This might sound crazy but...
I think it might work!

I ran across this article at lookoutlanding -- https://www.lookoutlanding.com/2018/12/7/18131068/fpf-no-really-guys-im-...

Give it a read... go ahead...no really--I mean it!... I'll wait... *taps fingers patiently*...I can do this all day... *taps fingers some more*

Read it? Great! Whaddya think? Now--Now I know what you're going to say...I know it sounds preposterous, ridiculous, frivolous, scandalous and whatever else, but, come ON! This might be just what it takes to make a good end for Felix, and make the season interesting. Just imagine, giving the King one more opportunity to matter, to revive his career.

Could he perhaps find another couple of MPH on the fastball if he knew he had to go but one inning? Might he be inspired by a new mountain to climb? Might he thrive once again in the high-leverage situations that used to be his bread and butter? He's not that old, just worn a bit. Lets throw some stop-leak in the radiator and take that high-mileage Corvette out for one last lap around the track eh?

I have nothing else to add but layman's commentary. But this is soooo intriguing! Anyone else feel the same way??  Anyone??  Any.. one... Bueller???

If King Felix had been our "opener" in 1018, he would have been the worst opener in baseball history! (All right, openers have a short history, but...)  the King was decidedly un-royal, his first trip through the lineup. Is that because there qasn't enough at stake in those first innings, or because it took him a few pitches- a few batters- to "get in the game"?

Don't get mecqrong...  I'd lovecforc5hisvto work out, it could be the answer to so many problems! Let's juat say I'm not sure how much Smoltzie there really is, under that crown!

Here is Felix’s B-R page:  https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hernafe02.shtml

Since his near-Cy ’14, he has had a linear decline in almost all the pertinent stats: H/9, K/9, WHIP, FIP, ERA.

The essential error was that after the ‘16 season Félix didn’t get a rebuilt shoulder, arm or elbow.  There was clearly indication that it was needed and in ’16, he was only 30 years old, with lots of potential years ahead.

Instead of looking at the last two years of his contract, we (and he) looked at the next one.

I think we will start him and he gets beat up.  Then we DL him for the middle of the season, with a few late-season starts for the home fans.
